<description>Great idea! I had thought about reorganizing some of my blog posts to be used in a book, but I never thought about setting up a private blog to easily write a book. I will have to try it.

I am actually working on a print book. Basically it is about watching baseball in Chicago.. It's going well so far... We'll see how things go as far as getting it in stores ect. It isn't really a business-style book.

<description>so are you doing ebook first than make it to a book or vice versa? Writing a book can be a great way to make money but it's hard to shine among the thousands in a bookstore &#62;_&#60;!

<description>You already know my thoughts, I want to write reams and reams and reams :-)

My personal goal is to cross over from my blog, into books, into journalism into whatever comes next. I have a couple of really good ideas but the thing I find takes the most time is the planning.

For me I can't just begin writing a book, I've got to plan the character bios, the plotlines, the beginning, the middle and the end... then the rest can just be filled in and 'played by ear' as you go along.

Whatever it is you want to do or write about I say just go for it! :-)

p.s. thanks for your super nice message, it made me smile :-) and I hope you get lots of use out of your new brilliant phrase

<description>Good to read your post today about your book. I'm exploring writing as well and have come across a couple of people/links recently that may be helpful for you and others interested in writing. I'll share them here.

1. Another self publishing site a friend recommends is http://www.createspace.com.

2. @michaelhyatt - on Twitter, President &#38; CEO of Thomas Nelson Publishing, has som great posts on his blog sidebar about book submissions and literary agents. http://www.michaelhyatt.com/fromwhereisit/ After reading the book proposal link, I've decided to hold off on continued book writing to work on a proposal.

3. You can also follow @markgoodyear - an editor. I'm sure there are plenty others.

4. @getitdoneguy is writing a book using a wiki. He talks about his process here. http://blog.steverrobbins.com/getitdoneguy/

Hope these prove to be helpful. Look forward to hearing more about your progress as you go along.

Best,
Cheryl

<description>Best of luck with all of this. Its not an easy field.. but you already know that.

My thoughts, over the years, about publishing, have drastically subject changed.. as of today, I have no idea what subject would interest me, enough, to publish it...

There is always my family history, though. :)

I'm wrapped up in learning a Word Press and I think its my theme kicking my butt, right now.

Someday I'll graduate from "just a blogger" to a published author.. I hope.

Thanks for tweeting this post.

<description>I have two clients who were inspired to write books because I encouraged them to blog. When they figured out that blogging was just short of writing a book, they went for it and never looked back. They are thanking me a hundred times over now and one is ready to publish.

Now, if only I would take my own advice!</description>

		<description>Scott,
your article is very interesting. I myself have never considered to publish a book - and will never do - but I've published some articles in books and in a newspaper (concerning the field of internet/web and education). I think it's great to have a real product which you can take in your hand and then show it to some other person. With blogging I don't have the feeling of producing a "real" thing...
