This was a great read. I myself come from a musical background and had never really looked at blogging, or writing in general, like writing a song. You bring up some great points, especially when you talk about shelving an idea for a while.

Nice reflective post. It’s good to see that others got interested in blogging and can honestly look back at their progress and be able to learn something and give back to the rest of us who are starting out.

I’m in that infantile stage where I’m forging my voice. I’ve always enjoyed writing but never followed any discipline. The pliancy of blogging has helped establish a cup into which I can pour my ideas (for good or ill). It’s a cool experience but it certainly isn’t for everyone.

I like your metaphor of your blogging voice to your singing. There’s definitely an evolution. It’s a pretty cool thing to actually hear that subtle evolution in three links. Well done!
