The Single Best Way to Increase Your Profits
I have been surfing from blog to blog reading about all the different ways to monetize your website. Roughly 99 percent of theses types of blogs suffer from the one single element that can doom a blog.
Horrible writing.
I know I am not the best writer in the world, but I am definitely not a slouch. I learned how to articulate at an early age, and continue to hone that skill. I am constantly amazed at how people who can barely speak continue to tell me the benefits of certain techniques and how I can make a million dollars off website monetization. Writing is a passion. Whether or not you are blogging about your preferred topic is fairly irrelevant. If you are a good writer you will be able to generate income from a blog or website if you are writing about a topic that generates enough traffic.
SEO optimization, spamming your blog, commenting other peoples blogs, taking out ads, and any other of the ‘traffic building’ exercises will, in the end, prove pointless if your blog has poorly articulated content.
If you feel you are not a strong writer but have expertise to share, there is no shame in hiring a writer to properly articulate your thoughts. If you are an expert in your niche, your profits will dramatically increase as the reader will find your advice more convincing.

Yes, hire writers!
And PAY them what they’re worth. Unique and professional-sounding content will always win out in the the end, and if you’re profiting off of the content you should spread it around to those who got you there.
I’m having a slightly bitter morning.

Hi Scott - thank you for saying what many of us have been thinking for a long time.
Some of us blog because we love to write. But there are many who set up a blog because they want to make money.
Writing is just one of those inconvenient things they spit out in attempt to make it happen. And many of us can tell it has been spat from a long distance.
Never mind, I truly belive that if you keep writing quality content, you’ll get there in the end.

Hi Scott,
I found your blog via Catherine’s site, and will be back to scour through your archives, and check out your other blogs as well.
Quality content is definitely needed for a blog to succeed. With that being said though, getting your blog found becomes fundamental as well.
It’s easy to tell new bloggers to provide quality posts, and “they will come”, however, sometimes a visit and/or comment will motivate a new blogger. They now “know they are being heard”, and it may inspire them to concentrate on writing higher caliper posts.
Quality content eludes many, as they aim for higher page ranks, and the all mighty dollar…it’s like “putting the cart before the horse”

I feel that if people are only going for page rankings, they will eventually give up and they will never achieve the goal they set out to do. It was like that in the music industry too. So many bands spend so much time on their image and their contacts, they forget that the real reason people pay attention to the ‘bigger’ bands is the quality of the songs!
Thanks for the comment

Everyone thinks content is king - while that may be true in some cases, when it comes to earning money from a blog or website, then I say don’t be so sure of it.
I’ve got two blogs I write killer content for - having to do with my beliefs & hobbies - I think in a year I’ve maybe made $10 from them both.
I’ve set up other blogs purely to play around and see how much $$ I can earn thru affiliate marketing, and I make much more than $10 a day from one of those alone. Remember - a no content blog I’m talking about. The secret is…., well I’m not posting the secret here. lol
